Our arts division is looking for a Project Manager who has the ability to coordinate and manage small teams, subcontractors, stakeholders, consultants as well as project programs.
ROLE OUTLINE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Design Director, your key roles and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Tender writing
• Working with the artists to develop the work to suit the brief
• Budget development and management
• Develop/ present concepts and innovative ideas for new projects
• Lead and manage Design Development of projects with the project team
• Lead and manage Design Documentation of projects with the project team
• Coordinate project schedules, key milestones to ensure a firm scope-baseline schedule is established and properly resourced
• Review, report and manage key performance measures as defined within the project construction contract and the client's Statement of Work
• Manage fabrication and installation of projects
• Demonstrate a good working knowledge of project scheduling tools, procedures and work processes.
• Manage subcontractor performance and progress against the project plan
• Establish operating budgets in conjunction with customers and business managers to ensure accurate monthly forecasts of cost, schedule and resource utilisation
• Prepare change requests for modifications to awarded art projects for increases to scope on existing contracts and support negotiations with customers on variances
• Identify potential project problems or opportunities, analyse the issues using all appropriate resources to develop alternatives and arrive at the most optimum approach to mitigate problems, or exploit opportunities in the project delivery.
• Establish, track and report status against key performance indicators or contractual metrics on a routine basis.
• Expand the project execution plan for subsequent phases (Project Initiation, Planning, Execution, Control and Closure, etc.)
• The interest to maintain their own learning and keep up to date with the latest technologies.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
To be successful in this role you will have:
• CAD, Illustrator, Adobe Creative Suite skills
• A comprehensive understanding of product, building or sculpture construction
• Articulate communication
• The ability to work autonomously and in a team as required
• Excellent time management skills
• 3 - 5 years relevant professional client-side project management experience
• The ability to balance multiple projects and have strong project management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail to thoroughly check and review documents for quality content and to correct errors.
• Demonstrated communication skills with the ability to follow a brief.
• Demonstrated experience producing creative ideas and the ability to think outside the box.
• Sound knowledge of multi-residential and commercial art projects and relevant planning matters including planning schemes.
• Your own car, hold a current driver’s licence and reside in the Sydney area.
The ideal candidate will also have:
• A background in arts.
• A keen interest in art and design.
• Sound construction knowledge or experience.
• Experience working on construction sites.
You will also be self-motivated with an ability to work both autonomously where required, with a strong sense of commitment, a willingness to learn and a desire to work in a dynamic deadline-driven team environment.
