Project Name: Winds of Change
Materials: Timber . Steel . Copper
Dimensions: Up to 6m H
Description: Winds of Change comprises wind vanes; each one a visual vignette of land development over the past 150 years; cattle grazing, the railway, grand estates, and newer industries such as viticulture. The images are set within the shape of an elm leaf, significant as the English elm was one of the first trees planted by white settlers in the area.
The work was commissioned to celebrate the Sesquicentenary of Bowral and Moss Vale in the Southern Highlands of NSW.
